Jonathan Green works as a full-time teacher in west London.  He has written for Games Workshop publications Inferno! and White Dwarf.  His first novel was published by Games Workshop's Black Library in 2002.

The Dead And The Damned

A Warhammer novel.  This episodic novel, by which I mean each chapter is a separate short story, serving to destroy the overall unity of the plot, features Badenov's mercenaries, a generic group of hard-bitten cynical veterans who wander around having unlikely adventures. 

This book embodies everything that can go wrong with a Warhammer novel.  The heroes are all indistinguishable from one another, the villains are all B-movie quality, the violence is detrimentally extreme, swearing is added as if to excite young lads with its naughtiness and the fall of a hero to the corruption of chaos is predictable and cliched. 

It isn't even as if the story overcomes the failings, as the episodic nature means that each adventure never has chance to develop beyond shallow.  The sort of literary trash that gives the genre a bad name.
