Missionary Man

(Art by Frank Quitely and Garry Marshall)

Preacher Cain sets out into the Cursed Earth in order to bring justice and the word of God to those that live there; confronting bigots, zombies, ghosts and the Devil himself.

I'm sure it's no coincidence that the titular missionary is called Cain because his character is very much a revisiting of Robert E. Howard's Puritan adventurer Solomon Kane, just with 2000AD-esque post-apocalyptic Western trappings.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with that and this book overall is not a bad one.

It's not a great one either, though.  I found Cain's dialogue, mostly consisting of out-of-context bible quotes, to be a bit annoying after a while.

Still, not a bad introduction to a character who I'd not encountered before.
