Star Wars: The Lost Jedi Adventure Gamebook

An omnibus which contains two choose-your-own-adventure stories; 'Jedi Dawn', set just before Episode IV, and 'The Bounty Hunter', set two years later.  These stories have you take on the role of Havet Storm, a young man with Jedi heritage who becomes embroiled in the Rebel Alliance's struggle against the Galactic Empire.

First and foremost you need to remember that this is a role-playing gamebook.  If that's not something you'd enjoy then don't even start looking for this rather rare omnibus.  However, if you're an old hand at the keeping-your-finger-in-the-last-page-just-in-case method and a Star Wars fan, then you may well find a lot to enjoy here.

The story of 'Jedi Dawn' takes you to the planet Toprawa and involves you in the efforts to recover the Death Star plans.  This story's best elements come from your hopelessly-outmatched encounters with a certain Mr. Fett and the twist ending of your character's romance with the beautiful Facet Anamor.

'The Bounty Hunter' has Havet setting out into the wider galaxy to join the Rebel Alliance and meeting its famous faces, all the while with Boba Fett and Darth Vader in pursuit.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't the greatest piece of Star Wars literature you'll come across and, occasionally, is actually a bit naff.  However, it does a surprisingly good job of combining the adventure gamebook medium with the feel of the Galaxy Far, Far Away.  Plus, its a favourite of Star Wars legend Abel G. Pena.
